TVS Motor Company has already touched the lives of more than six lakh electric two-wheeler customers with the iQube and the TVS X. Now, it is ready with its third electric scooter – the TVS Orbiter.
Well, what made the company to field its third e-scooter? The key drivers for the company to launch the new vehicle, according to Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President — Head Commuter & EV Business and Head Corporate Brand & Media, TVS Motor Company, is that life today never stands still. People are always on the move – rushing to college, work, meeting friends, or weekend outings. Their routine keeps changing, and they need a ride that can keep up with this fast pace. A ride that is quick in traffic, steady on rough roads, comfortable for long hours, and always ready for the city’s surprises. That is why TVS created the Orbiter – a scooter designed for today’s new-age riders, built to understand their daily lives and keep them always on, he said.
Behind the Orbiter is the hard work of more than 600 young engineers and designers who spent months thinking about how to make everyday rides easier and more exciting. They worked day and night, testing ideas, fixing problems, and adding features that truly matter to riders. “That’s exactly how the TVS Orbiter was born — a brand-new electric scooter that isn’t just about getting from one place to another, but about enjoying the ride, every single time,” Saurabh Kapoor, VP, Marketing – EV Business, TVS Motor Company, said.
How Did TVS Make The Orbiter Look Fresh & Premium?
The Orbiter has been styled to turn heads. The design team says it’s not just about picking bright colours, but about how matte and glossy finishes are blended, how textures and graphics give it a modern feel, and how even the tiniest details are polished to look sharp. The result is a scooter that feels young, trendy, and premium — something today’s city riders will be proud to own.
But style alone isn’t enough. Riding every day can be tiring, especially on uneven city roads. To fix this, the vehicle maker added a big 14-inch front wheel that glides smoothly over bumps, a wide handlebar that lets rider sit in a natural posture, and a long flat seat so both rider and pillion can relax without feeling squeezed. The straight footboard and well-balanced seat height add to the comfort, making every city ride easier and more enjoyable.

The Orbiter makes daily life easier with plenty of smart touches. Its huge 34-litre boot can fit two helmets and still leave space for small bags. A USB port with a handy storage box on the handlebar makes charging your phone and keeping essentials close really simple. It’s also the first scooter in its segment to offer cruise control for relaxed rides, hill-hold assist to stop it from rolling back on slopes, and parking assist that helps you move smoothly forward or reverse into tight spaces.
Range anxiety is one of the biggest worries with EVs, but the Orbiter tackles this with confidence. Powered by a 3.1 kWh battery, it delivers an IDC range of 158 km — made possible through smart engineering like low-resistance tyres, an efficient powertrain, and an aerodynamic design, Haldar, pointed out. Moreover, there is no issue whether it rains or puddles. as the motor, battery, and electronics are IP67-certified for protection. “It combines everyday practicality with advanced technology, enhanced aerodynamic efficiency, spacious comfort, and segment-first features,” he added.
Connected, Safe
The Orbiter is not just smart on the road, it’s connected too. It comes with a bright LCD screen that shows calls, texts, and even turn-by-turn directions while you ride. Through the TVS SmartXConnect app, one can track the scooter’s live location, set safe boundaries with geo-fencing, get alerts if someone tries to tow or steal it, and even enjoy over-the-air updates that keep the scooter fresh with the latest features. In many ways, it stays as smart as a smartphone.
Safety and convenience go hand in hand here. A powerful LED headlamp with visor, smart connected cluster, and app-based features make daily rides simpler and safer. With its 3.1 kWh battery and aerodynamic design, the Orbiter also delivers great range and smooth performance. As Gaurav Gupta, President of India 2W Business at TVS, explained, the Orbiter is about setting global benchmarks in quality, safety, and performance while expanding India’s EV ecosystem. It’s a step towards a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable future.
According to the design team, the TVS Orbiter is designed to take the stress out of everyday commuting. It helps riders stay calm and confident with features like Hill Hold for slopes, Cruise Control for easy cruising, and Parking Assist for slipping in and out of tight spots. The scooter also adapts to different needs with Eco and Power modes, while regenerative braking adds more efficiency. Over-the-air updates help the Orbiter stay up to date, so riders always enjoy a safe and modern experience.
