Ashok Leyland Augments ICVs, Launches New ecomet Star In 11 - 16 Tonne GVW

Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland has on Monday launched the ecomet Star, upgraded with additional features, in the Intermediate Commercial Vehicle (ICV) segment. 

The new ICV will be offered in the 11, 12, 14 and 16 tonne GVW haulage segment and 5 & 6 cubic metre tipper segment.

According to the company, the new truck is designed to meet the expectations of the new-age customer. In addition to providing higher fluid efficiency, better tyre life, longer service intervals, and lower maintenance cost with enhanced turnaround time, the truck offers the best-in-class Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the fleet owners. 

The ecomet platform supports multiple applications such as e-commerce, parcel & courier, agri-perishable, poultry, white goods, FMCG, auto parts and reefer, among others.

The truck comes in 12ft to 24ft in CBC, FSD, DSD and HSD load body options. Powered by i-Gen6 technology 150 HP engine delivering 450 Nm torque and mated to six-speed overdrive gearbox and optimised gear ratios options to suit all haulage and tipper applications. 

Comes with spacious day and sleeper cabins offering improved driver comfort and safety, the new ICV is supported with a heavy-duty rear axle, suspension, frame, and other aggregates that offer higher durability. 

The truck also comes with digital solutions like i-Alert (advanced telematics) and remote diagnostics. 

The ICV comes with four years and four lack km warranty and is supported by 24x7 customer assistance Uptime Solution Centre and extensive Service Mandi network.
