Ather Energy, Infineon Forge Strategic Partnership To Accelerate EV Innovation

The agreement, signed in Seoul, South Korea, aims to enhance technological capabilities in light electric vehicles (LEVs), charging infrastructure, and safety systems.

Ather Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, a global semiconductor leader, to drive next-generation innovations in India’s electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Through this partnership, Ather and Infineon will collaborate on deploying cutting-edge semiconductor solutions—including SiC, GaN, microcontrollers, and automotive sensors—to create more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective EV systems.

Swapnil Jain, Executive Director and CTO at Ather Energy, said, “Infineon’s technological leadership perfectly complements our engineering-first approach. This collaboration will allow us to optimise performance, efficiency, and reliability across critical systems—from safety to charging—while reducing system complexity and cost.”

Peter Schaefer, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Automotive at Infineon, stated, “Electric two-wheelers are central to India’s mobility transformation. Our partnership with Ather will bring advanced power electronics and sensing technologies to the forefront, helping realise India’s EV ambition of 30% market share by 2030.”

The collaboration also includes joint efforts to innovate in sensing and safety domains, targeting an improved user experience and higher system dependability. With Infineon’s semiconductor expertise and Ather’s deep R&D capabilities, the alliance is poised to contribute significantly to making EVs more energy-efficient, sustainable, and consumer-friendly across India’s evolving mobility landscape.
