In a strategic move aimed at improving the EV ownership experience, Ather Energy has announced a collaboration with ThunderPlus. The partnership will allow Ather users to access over 140 ThunderPlus charging hubs across 40 cities in 15 states, significantly increasing the charging options available to electric two-wheeler riders across the country.

Rajeev YSR, CEO, ThunderPlus, underlined a willingness to work with other EV manufacturers as well, suggesting that ThunderPlus sees itself as a shared utility rather than a closed network. The move is not only aimed at boosting user confidence but also at encouraging greater adoption of electric mobility by making public charging more reliable and widespread.

For Ather the decision to open up to a third-party charging provider indicates a recognition of the practical challenges faced by riders, particularly outside of metro cities. The partnership expands Ather’s reach in areas where its own charging infrastructure may still be under development, helping users plan longer commutes or intercity rides with fewer constraints.
