Ather Energy plans to scale up to 700 Experience Centres across India by FY26, driven by strong demand for its family-oriented Rizta scooter.

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler pioneer Ather Energy has announced a major retail expansion plan, targeting 700 Experience Centres (ECs) across India by the end of FY26—nearly double its current footprint. The move comes in response to soaring demand for its Rizta, a family-oriented electric scooter that has sold over 100,000 units within its first year of launch.

The Rizta has been instrumental in widening Ather’s customer base beyond its core performance segment. It now accounts for nearly 60% of the company’s total sales and has significantly boosted market share in regions like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. As of March 31, 2025, Ather operated 351 ECs in India, alongside 24 in Nepal and Sri Lanka—46% of which were in South India.

To meet growing demand in underrepresented areas, Ather will triple its store count in northern India and continue its expansion across the east and west. “Expanding to 700 Experience Centres is about staying ahead of the demand curve,” said Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy.

Beyond retail, Ather continues to scale its Ather Grid—India’s largest fast-charging network—with over 3,578 charging points nationwide. The company is also enhancing its service ecosystem with Gold Service Centres and Express Care, which promises maintenance completion within 60 minutes.

On the manufacturing front, Ather currently runs two plants in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, and is building a third in Bidkin, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. Once operational, Ather’s total production capacity will scale up to 1.42 million electric two-wheelers annually.

Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy has consistently led the electric scooter revolution in India. Its product portfolio includes the performance-focused 450 series and the family-friendly Rizta line. With this aggressive expansion, Ather aims to cement its leadership in India’s growing electric mobility landscape.
