Ather Energy has introduced a new variant of its family-focused Rizta S, now available with a 3.7kWh battery pack. With an IDC-certified range of 159 kilometres, the updated version is positioned to serve daily commuters who require more flexibility without exceeding their budget.
Launched initially in 2024, the Rizta has quickly grown to account for over 60 percent of Ather’s overall sales, passing the one lakh unit mark within a year. The scooter’s design has focused on everyday usability, family comfort, and storage needs. The latest 3.7kWh version continues this approach by retaining the same platform but delivering improved range through a larger battery, while keeping its pricing competitive in the mid-tier segment.
The new Rizta S maintains key features that define the model’s identity, including a 34-litre underseat storage, with an optional Frunk extending it by 22 litres. The seat remains one of the longest in the segment, catering to family riders with a flat and wide design. Ather has not altered the structural design, ensuring continuity in ergonomics and functionality.
The scooter includes a 7-inch DeepView display with turn-by-turn navigation and a range of safety features like AutoHold, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, and Theft Alerts. Alexa integration and OTA support have also been retained. The scooter will continue to benefit from access to Ather’s 3,900+ charging points under the Ather Grid network, and the home charger has been packaged for overnight charging convenience.
The variant comes under the brand’s extended warranty programme called ‘Ather Eight70’, offering eight years or 80,000 kilometres of coverage with a 70 percent battery health guarantee. This aligns with growing customer concerns around long-term reliability and resale value in the electric two-wheeler space.
Bookings for the Rizta S 3.7kWh variant are now open nationwide, with deliveries expected to start within the month. The variant will be available across all existing Ather Experience Centres and through the online platform.
