BMW India has launched new variants of the BMW X5, locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai and now available across dealerships in both petrol and diesel options.
Customers can also avail BMW SMART Finance, which offers flexible payment solutions, assured buyback, and the ability to include service, warranty, and insurance packages.
The new BMW X5 features a robust design with matrix Adaptive LED headlights, L-shaped rear lights, 21-inch alloy wheels, and modern air breathers. The M Sport Pro Package enhances sportiness with high gloss black elements, M Sport Exhaust, M Sport Brakes with red calipers, and piano black trim inside. The cabin is highlighted by the BMW Widescreen Curved Display with a 12.3-inch information panel and 14.9-inch control screen, Comfort Seats with lumbar support, Harman Kardon Surround Sound, 4-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.
Under the hood, the 3-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine in the X5 xDrive40i produces 381 hp and 520 Nm torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, while the diesel engine in the xDrive30d delivers 286 hp and 650 Nm torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. Both engines are supported by a 48V mild-hybrid system delivering an additional 12 hp and 200 Nm torque. Power is channelled through an eight-speed Steptronic transmission with multiple drive modes, complemented by BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive and Adaptive 2-Axle Air Suspension.
For the first time, the BMW X5 introduces the xOffroad package with selectable modes for sand, rocks, gravel, and snow. This system optimises ground clearance, transmission response, traction, and stability control while reinforced underbody protection and an M Sport Differential add further capability. An offroad camera view and specialised displays keep the driver informed on terrain and vehicle behaviour.
The new X5 integrates BMW ConnectedDrive technologies including BMW ID, MyBMW app, Digital Key Plus, Intelligent Personal Assistant, Emergency Call, and smartphone-based parking with BMW Parking Assistant Professional. Efficient Dynamics features such as Auto Start-Stop and Electronic Power Steering enhance efficiency. Safety is ensured with airbags, DSC with Cornering Brake Control, attentiveness assistance, ISOFIX mounts, and integrated emergency spare wheel.
By expanding the X5 line-up with new petrol and diesel trims, BMW India continues to strengthen its locally produced luxury SUV portfolio, combining premium design, digital innovation, dynamic performance, and robust safety with flexibility of ownership.
