BMW India has launched the second-generation BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé in the country today, offering it exclusively in a petrol variant. Positioned as a youthful, premium offering in the compact luxury segment, the new 2 Series Gran Coupé comes with sharper design elements, expanded tech features, and a more dynamic character. Priced at INR 46.90 lakh for the 218i M Sport and INR 48.90 lakh for the 218i M Sport Pro (ex-showroom), the car is expected to appeal strongly to young urban buyers with its extroverted styling and enhanced digital experience.

Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, “The new 2 Series Gran Coupé reflects a perfect blend of style and substance, crafted to match the persona of young achievers. This generation continues to challenge convention, rewriting expectations of what a compact luxury car can be.”

The new 2 Series Gran Coupé features design updates including the striking BMW Iconic Glow Kidney Grille, sharper Adaptive LED headlamps, frameless doors, and a more sculpted rear. Available in Brooklyn Grey, Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, and Alpine White, the car offers new Veganza Perforated leather-free interiors in Mocha and Oyster.

Under the hood, it’s powered by a 1.5-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine producing 156 hp and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and boasts a top speed of 230 km/h. A Sport Boost function sharpens throttle response for spirited driving.

The M Sport package is standard across variants and includes aggressive bumpers, Y-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, and M-specific trims. Inside, the cabin is defined by the BMW Curved Display with OS 9-based iDrive with QuickSelect, an immersive ambient lighting package, and premium features like the Harman Kardon 12-speaker sound system, panoramic sunroof, and Heads-Up Display with Augmented View.

The car also offers a comprehensive safety suite including Blind Spot Detection, Parking Assistant Plus with surround cameras, Reversing Assistant, and Driving Assistant package. Digital features like BMW Digital Key Plus, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and the MyBMW App further enhance the experience.

With its updated platform, improved suspension, and enhanced ground clearance, the new 2 Series Gran Coupé also promises better ride comfort and handling across Indian road conditions. Service Inclusive packages and attractive finance options starting at INR 35,000/month through BMW Financial Services make ownership more accessible.
