BMW India has launched the Z4 M40i Pure Impulse Edition, bringing a new level of performance and exclusivity to the brand’s iconic roadster line-up. This is the first time a six-speed manual gearbox is offered in the top-tier Z4 M40i.
Tailored for enthusiasts, the Pure Impulse Edition fuses M Performance power with open-top freedom and a sharp design ethos. New exterior shades, including Frozen Deep Green and Sanremo Green metallic, complement the model’s aggressive aesthetics, which include high-gloss black detailing, red metallic M Sport brake callipers, and striking staggered 19/20-inch M Light Alloy Wheels in Double Spoke style 800M.
Under the hood, the car houses a 3.0-litre straight-six engine producing 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds with the manual and 4.5 seconds with the automatic transmission. The manual variant features a specially engineered transmission system, developed exclusively for this model, delivering the signature tactile feel BMW is known for.
Inside, the cabin radiates purist sportiness with Vernasca Cognac leather upholstery and exclusive trim, particularly in the manual variant. The cockpit remains driver-focused, featuring M sports seats, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, and multiple storage options. Standard features include BMW Live Cockpit Professional with a 10.25-inch digital display, Adaptive Navigation, Wireless Apple CarPlay, and BMW’s iDrive 7.0 system.
Customers can further personalise their Z4 with optional packages offering features such as Harman Kardon surround sound, Head-Up Display, Adaptive LED Headlights, and Comfort Access. BMW EfficientDynamics technologies, such as ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, and Auto Start-Stop, are integrated to enhance driving performance while optimising fuel efficiency.
Safety remains paramount, with front and side airbags, ABS, DSC, Dynamic Brake Control, and Cornering Brake Control among other advanced systems included as standard.
