Bosch has announced a major push into artificial intelligence (AI), committing over €2.5 billion in investments by 2027 to accelerate innovation across mobility, manufacturing, and consumer technologies.
“AI enables entirely new chapters in innovation,” said Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Bosch Board of Management. With more than 1,500 AI-related patents filed over the past five years, Bosch has emerged as one of Europe’s leading innovators in this space.
A core application area is automated and assisted driving, where AI enables smarter route planning, real-time decision-making, and predictive safety features. Bosch expects its mobility tech revenues—from software, sensors, and high-performance computing—to double to over €10 billion by the mid-2030s.
In manufacturing, Bosch is pioneering agentic AI—self-acting systems that independently monitor devices, predict maintenance needs, and optimise operations. Already deployed within Bosch’s plants, these multi-agent systems reduce unplanned downtime and increase productivity. From 2025, Bosch will offer an agentic AI platform for external businesses, allowing even those with minimal coding skills to build their own intelligent systems.
Beyond industry, Bosch is embedding AI into everyday products. From ovens that recognise dishes and cook automatically, to e-bikes that optimise battery range, to baby monitors tracking vital signs—AI is increasingly becoming the backbone of Bosch’s consumer technology.
To prepare its workforce, Bosch has trained over 65,000 employees through its AI Academy since 2019 and now has nearly 5,000 AI specialists. “A society without AI capability risks falling behind,” Hartung warned, citing survey data showing strong public interest in AI education and its future potential.
With investments, talent, and technology aligned, Bosch is positioning itself to lead in the age of AI—transforming its “Invented for Life” philosophy into intelligent, future-ready solutions.
