Chartered Speed, EKA Mobility To Deploy 1,135 E-Buses Under PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme

The companies have already secured the Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) for 900 buses and have now added another 235, taking the total to 1,135.

Chartered Speed, a leading passenger bus mobility operator, and EKA Mobility, an automotive and technology company focused on commercial EVs, have partnered to roll out 1,135 electric buses across India under the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme.

Full deployment is expected to serve more than 3.6 lakh passengers every day and create over 2,500 jobs, supporting both green mobility and local economic development.

Of the latest allocation, Chartered Speed will procure, operate, and maintain 110 buses in Madhya Pradesh, 60 in Odisha, 35 in Chhattisgarh, and 30 in Meghalaya. The partnership leverages Chartered Speed’s operational experience and EKA Mobility’s manufacturing expertise to make urban transport more sustainable and accessible.

Chartered Speed plans to expand its e-bus operations across seven states and union territories, including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. Together with EKA Mobility, the company is pushing forward India’s transition towards eco-friendly, reliable, and inclusive intracity transport.
