EKA, goEgoNetwork Inks MoU To Set Up Charging Infrastructure

goEgoNetwork will be the official electric charging solution provider for EKA’s 9m buses, and will set up ARAI- and OCPP-certified stations for the institutional customers across the country.

EKA Mobility has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with goEgoNetwork to provide a robust, efficient, compliant, and well-connected EV charging infrastructure, including advanced charging stations, to its public transportation customers.

goEgoNetwork will be the official electric charging solution provider for EKA’s 9m buses, and will set up ARAI- & OCPP-certified stations of 30 kW, 60 kW, and 120 kW capacities for institutional customers across the country, a press release from EKA stated.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr Sudhir Mehta, Chairman, EKA Mobility & Pinnacle Industries; Hirdesh Thakur, Executive Director, EKA Mobility; Rishi Bagla, Director, goEgoNetwork; and Sayantan Chakraborti, Pravin Kumar & Dheeman Kadam, Co-Founders at goEgoNetwork.

Dr Mehta believes that building a more accessible electric vehicle charging infrastructure will drive the rapid transformation of electrifying public transportation in our country and achieve net-zero emissions goals.

Bagla said, “As omnipresent and compliant charging ecosystems lack across the country, our partnership with EKA Mobility will guarantee EKA Mobility’s customers a seamless charging ecosystem for their e-buses across India.'

EKA’s 9m electric bus recently got its Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) certification from ARAI and the first batch of the bus is expected to be deployed on road soon. It must be noted that the 9m low floor electric bus was launched early April this year. 

Completely designed in India, the bus measures 2,500 mm in width, and has a seating capacity of 32, including the driver and wheelchair, which can be loaded onto the vehicle using the ramp. The bus can get down to the lowest 650 mm floor height with the kneeling feature. EKA claims a range of 200 km on a single charge.
