EKA Mobility, in partnership with Chartered Speed, has been awarded the Letter of Award for the deployment of 675 electric buses across Rajasthan. This contract forms part of the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme and covers the rollout of 565 nine-metre and 110 twelve-metre fully electric buses across eight key cities in the state. These include Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, and Jodhpur. The initiative marks a significant step in Rajasthan’s efforts to modernise its public transport systems while reducing its dependence on fossil fuels and curbing urban air pollution.
The large-scale deployment reflects a broader national strategy towards sustainable mobility, with the Letter of Award following the Letter of Confirmation of Quantity issued earlier by CESL for electric bus procurement across India. This state-level implementation reaffirms the central government’s push to electrify public transportation under a unified and scalable policy framework.
Recently, the company secured contracts worth INR 150 crore from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation and a INR 400 crore order from Nagpur Municipal Corporation. These developments suggest that EKA is gradually emerging as a prominent player in the electric bus market, with an operational strategy that focuses on building regional partnerships and catering to large-scale urban transit needs.
