Ellysium Automotives, the automobile arm of United Arab Emirates-based META4 Group, has launched a new electric two-wheeler brand in India, named EVeium. The new brand will be launching three electric scooters in India within July 2022.

Muzammil Riaz, Group CEO, META4 shared that EVeium will be a ‘Made in India’ electric vehicles brand. The company plans to manufacture EVs at the upcoming Voltly Energy manufacturing plant in Telangana.

Aditya Reddy, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, EVeium, said the company would be introducing three electric scooters keeping in mind the country’s value positioning and mobility competition.

It must be noted that Voltly Energy had recently signed an MOU with the Telangana Government to acquire a parcel of 15-acre land in Zaheerabad to set up a manufacturing unit dedicated to EVs. The brand plans to invest INR 250 crore in the plant, which will be functional by the end of this fiscal.

By the end of FY23, the company will start retailing its products in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal.

Notably, Elysium Automotives had recently parted ways with British EV two-wheeler brand One Moto in India, and had announced going solo in its EV journey.

EVeium will build products in accordance with government of India's FAME II scheme, pointed out Riaz. He said, “Many electric vehicle brands in the market are launching products that only contributed to the negative image of electric vehicles. With a professional and skilled team, we are ready to reform the Indian minds on what riding a safe and confident EV feels like.”

The company will also be utilising its telematics app to offer features such as digi locker, nearest charging station location, geo-fencing and more to end-users.
