With an aim to bring affordable, high-performance battery-swapping solutions to the EV market, the Hyderabad-based Esmito Solutions has joined hands with ElectricFuel to roll out Energy as a Service (EaaS) platform.
ElectricFuel, presently part of the Energy Solutions Division of Arotech Corporation, is a supplier of high-end primary and rechargeable batteries and chargers for various markets. While Esmito provides advanced battery swap solutions, battery management systems and bespoke infra management platforms combined with sophisticated analytics.

To begin with, the EaaS has been rolled out in Bengaluru and Hyderabad with a plan to expand operations across the country in the next six months. According to the arrangement, ElectricFuel will be an EaaS operator enabled by Esmito's technology comprising Battery Swap Stations backed by its smart management platform and Mobile App.
As a tech provider, Esmito will offer a stack of products to ElectricFuel to evolve it as an EaaS provider. With the Government also encouraging EV adoption for commercial applications, procurement of these vehicles becomes an issue due to higher acquisition costs. Here comes the role of Esmito, as it can enable EV fleet operators to swap their used batteries at a swapping station.
