EVeium Smart Mobility has announced a push towards domestic manufacturing in an effort to make its premium electric scooters more accessible to Indian consumers. The company is now sourcing a larger portion of its components locally, aiming to reduce production costs without altering the quality or performance of its models.
The shift supports EVeium’s broader localisation agenda and directly aligns with the Indian government's push for self-reliant manufacturing in the clean mobility sector. The models Cosmo, Comet, and Czar are now being relaunched with updated features and design changes, while their pricing has been adjusted to reflect the benefits of local production efficiencies.
EVeium’s decision to strengthen its Indian manufacturing base also serves as a response to evolving customer expectations in the electric vehicle space. Buyers are increasingly demanding not just lower upfront costs but also reliable performance, sustainable sourcing, and long-term service support. By producing more components within India, the brand can offer better service integration and reduce lead times for parts.
Sameer Moidin, Founder and CEO, EVeium Smart Mobility, highlighted the company’s belief in balancing cost-effectiveness with advanced design and technology. The latest move indicates a deliberate attempt by the brand to carve out a competitive niche in the mid-to-premium EV two-wheeler category, where differentiation now depends as much on manufacturing agility as on product features.
