In a major milestone for Indian automotive manufacturing, Force Motors has rolled out the 100,000th engine from its advanced assembly facility in Chennai, built exclusively for BMW Group India. Established in 2015, the Chennai plant has become a key pillar in BMW Group’s localisation strategy in India. With automated assembly lines, digital integration, and rigorous quality systems, the facility adheres to BMW’s global production standards while contributing to the ‘Make in India’ vision.

The commemorative event saw the presence of top officials from both organisations, including Marcus Wollens, Vice President, BMW Production Network 2, BMW AG; Thomas Dose, Managing Director, BMW Group Plant Chennai; and Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Force Motors Ltd.

Wollens said, “This 100,000th engine milestone is a powerful symbol of our Indo-German synergy and shared vision. It reflects a decade of engineering excellence, innovation, and a mutual commitment to quality.”

Thomas Dose added, “BMW Group Plant Chennai takes pride in maintaining global quality benchmarks. Our collaboration with Force Motors is integral to delivering locally produced BMW cars that meet international standards while promoting local value creation.”

Firodia noted, “This milestone is a testament to the trust, precision, and high standards that define our partnership. As BMW Group India expands its footprint, Force Motors remains committed to supporting that journey through operational excellence and world-class manufacturing.”

The collaboration has delivered high-performance engines for BMW’s India portfolio, underscoring the strength of Indo-German cooperation in building global-quality products within India. With 100,000 engines produced and counting, the partnership sets a benchmark for industrial collaboration and future-ready localisation.
