Bangalore-based Sansera Engineering Limited has received Overdrive Award from the global vehicle major General Motors at the 30th annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony held in Phoenix, Arizona.

Sansera Engineering is the only Indian company to get Overdrive Award this year. Earlier, the company has received the GM Quality Excellence Award consecutively for five years, from 2013 till 2017. It was also honoured by a few of its aerospace customers. Among these is the Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award for 2019 from the Boeing Company.

Overdrive Award

First presented in 2012, the Overdrive Award is a distinction reserved for suppliers who display outstanding achievement across the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain organisation’s key priorities. They include sustainability, innovation, relationships, total enterprise cost, launch excellence and safety.

The Supplier of the Year and Overdrive Award winners were selected by a global cross-functional team based on performance criteria in Product Purchasing, Global Purchasing and Manufacturing Services, Customer Care and Aftersales and Logistics.

Incorporated in 1981, Sansera commenced commercial production of passenger vehicle components in 1986. It grew its precision components manufacturing business organically in India by commencing supplies to the two-wheeler vertical in 1996, for off-road vehicles in 2009, and to the light commercial vehicle vertical in 2011. The company has set up a manufacturing facility dedicated to high precision aluminium and titanium machined aerospace components in 2013. In April 2017, it acquired a 100% stake in Sansera Sweden, facilitating its entry into the heavy commercial vehicle vertical in the automotive sector, expanding its customer base, and improved geographical access to OEMs outside India.
