HERE Technologies and Genesys International have announced a new strategic collaboration aimed at improving in-car navigation systems and reducing distracted driving incidents on Indian roads. The initiative brings together HERE’s global strength in real-time mapping and traffic data with Genesys’s India-specific expertise in geospatial technology and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The two companies aim to provide a digital cockpit experience that includes live maps, traffic alerts, road hazard notifications and built-in safety support. These features will be embedded directly into the vehicle systems, offering real-time decision support without creating distractions.

As vehicles increasingly move toward being software-defined, integration between infotainment systems and vehicle safety architecture is becoming a design priority. A HERE-conducted survey revealed that 98 percent of Indian road users are concerned about road safety, while 91 percent believe ADAS features are crucial. The results highlight growing consumer awareness around technology’s role in reducing road risks.

Deon Newman of HERE Technologies noted that the collaboration allows automakers in India to bridge global standards with locally tuned features. By using AI-powered navigation with location-aware ADAS capabilities, the system can offer timely and useful inputs to drivers navigating unpredictable road conditions. Sajid Malik of Genesys added that combining India-specific mapping with HERE’s platform will support the country’s move toward connected and context-aware mobility solutions.

Both companies are also considering the creation of a joint mobility innovation centre in India. This facility would serve as a base for teams to co-develop solutions tailored to Indian driving conditions and challenges.
