Hero MotoCorp has discontinued the base variant of the Karizma XMR in India. The model has been delisted from the company’s official website, and dealers have reportedly stopped receiving new stock. Going forward, the Karizma XMR will be available only in two variants — Top and Combat — priced at INR 1,99,750 and INR 2,01,500, respectively (ex-showroom).

The discontinuation appears to stem from low market demand, as the base variant lacked key features such as upside-down front forks and a Bluetooth-enabled TFT display — both offered in the higher trims. While the bike saw a sales spike early last year, touching the 2,000-unit mark in a month, numbers dipped significantly in early 2025, prior to the launch of the premium variants.

Powering the Karizma XMR is a 210cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine producing 25bhp at 9,250rpm and 20.4Nm at 7,250rpm. This is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch. The motorcycle rides on a steel trellis frame, gets telescopic front forks (USDs on Top and Combat variants), a six-step adjustable monoshock at the rear, and disc brakes at both ends (300mm front and 230mm rear).

With an 11-litre fuel tank, 810mm seat height, and a kerb weight of 163.5kg, the Karizma XMR remains a compelling option in the 200–250cc segment. However, its long-term prospects may hinge on how well the upcoming Xtreme 250R-based version is received.
