In a bold move to accelerate electric mobility adoption in India, Hero MotoCorp has announced that its upcoming Vida VX2 electric scooter will debut with a subscription-based Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, launching on July 1, 2025. Branded under the VIDA sub-label, this innovative model allows customers to finance the scooter chassis and battery separately, dramatically lowering the upfront cost of EV ownership.
The ‘pay-as-you-go’ subscription approach offers flexible monthly plans tailored to individual usage patterns and budgets. This structure is designed to enhance convenience and affordability, while also boosting consumer confidence in electric mobility. Customers can access VIDA’s expansive national ecosystem of over 3,600 fast-charging stations and 500+ service points across more than 100 cities.
With this move, Hero MotoCorp aims to remove traditional cost and infrastructure barriers to EV ownership, making electric two-wheelers viable for a wider segment of the population. The BaaS model also gives users greater flexibility, allowing them to switch plans or upgrade their batteries without the burden of long-term commitments.
Full details of the subscription plans and pricing will be announced at the official launch on July 1, 2025. Positioned as a disruptive alternative in the market, the Vida VX2 with BaaS marks Hero’s push to make electric mobility future-ready, inclusive, and accessible at scale.
