Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has announced the launch of the Honda CB300F in India. Priced INR 2,25,990 ex-showroom for the Deluxe variant and INR 2,28,900 for the Deluxe Pro variant, this latest Honda BigWing bike has already started reaching dealerships. Bluetooth is the only differentiator between the two variants.

OEM's fourth motorcycle in the 250cc to 350cc segment, the CB300R, as noted by P Rajagopi, Operating Officer, Premium Motorcycle Business, HMSI, is targeted toward the young generation. He said, 'As the riding culture gains prominence in India, the Streetfighter motorcycle category, in particular, has witnessed an increased fascination among the youth. Characterised by fierce design philosophy and fearless attitude, motorcycles in this category attract customers who aspire for an ultimate package of power and aggressive looks.'

Notably, Royal Enfield has over 90% share of India's 250cc to 800cc bike market. The country saw sales of 46,948 motorcycle units in the 250cc to 350cc segment in June 2022. HMSI held a 4.16% share of India's 250cc to 800cc two-wheelers market in 2022.

Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, HMSI, said, “The two-wheeler landscape in India is undergoing a big shift as we move up in the motorcycle category. Riders, in the mid-size segment and above, in particular, are looking for a fine balance between performance, versatility & modernism. Today, as we turn a new chapter in Honda’s fun-motorcycle line-up, I am glad to present the all-new CB300F – the advanced formidable streetfighter!”

CB300F comes powered by a 293cc oil-cooled 4-valve SOHC engine. The OEM claims it has applied for ten new patents incorporated in the bike. Its latest two-wheeler launch also features Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), dual channel ABS, Assist & Slipper clutch, and 6-speed transmission. The front, rear, and turn indicators are all LED.

HMSI's leadership noted that the CB300F is inspired by the global Honda CB500R model. However, the bike also looks inspired by Honda Hornet 2.0. Rajagopi noted that the OEM has sold approximately 60,000 units of its existing H'ness and CB350R models in India, and the latest CB300F is the company's take on trying to increase market share in the 250cc to 350cc segment.
