Honda's latest launch in India will be the premium version of its best-selling scooter Activa. The company had been teasing the new looks of the upcoming Actia Premium for a while now.

The yet-to-be-launched Honda Activa premium features a new paint scheme comprising golden hues on turn indicators and wheel rims. A new branding tag, 'Activa Premium' can also be seen sported on the upcoming Honda scooter.

Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI), on the sidelines of the CB300F motorcycle launch, noted that the Activa brand will be sustained for at least six more years in India. Notably, Honda Activa remains to be the top-selling two-wheeler for the Japan-based OEM in India.

As a matter of fact, scooter sales have helped HMSI narrow down the gap in two-wheeler sales against Hero MotoCorp in the country. HMSI had outnumbered Hero MotoCorp in scooter sales as it retailed 293,687 units of scooters in India in July 2022, as against Hero MotoCorp's 22,134 scooter units.

The OEM had recently also launched the limited edition variant of the Dio Scooter in the country. HMSI might retain the same engine on the upcoming Honda Activa Premium as it uses on the existing Activa 6G. HMSI sold 443,643 units in the month of July 2022.

The OEM's domestic sales for the month registered 18% growth over last year's same period, which stood at 340,420 units. Over 17 lakh units of Honda Activa were sold in India during the last financial year. Notably, it was the highest-selling scooter model in India last financial year.
