Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has unveiled two new motorcycles, the CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX, marking its 25th anniversary in the country. The company has opened bookings for both models from 1 August 2025. These launches are timed with Honda’s broader production milestones of 70 million units in India and 500 million units globally.

The CB125 Hornet is targeted at urban youth and aims to occupy a premium spot in the 125cc segment. It features a sharper, more muscular design language and introduces segment-first hardware like golden upside-down front forks. Other highlights include a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, a USB Type-C charger and all-LED lighting. Powered by a 123.94cc fuel-injected engine producing 11 bhp and 11.2 Nm of torque, the Hornet pairs its output with a five-speed gearbox. The bike weighs just 124 kg and claims the fastest 0–60 km/h time in its class at 5.4 seconds. With features like a side-stand engine cut-off, petal disc brakes, and single-channel ABS, the Hornet combines performance upgrades with everyday safety.

On the other end is the Shine 100 DX, aimed at budget-conscious daily commuters. The motorcycle continues the Shine lineage but updates it with improved features and cosmetic changes. It now includes a digital instrument cluster showing real-time mileage, distance to empty and service alerts. The 98.98cc engine is compliant with OBD2B norms and produces 7.3 bhp and 8.04 Nm of torque, paired with a four-speed gearbox. Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology supports smoother acceleration and better fuel efficiency. While performance figures are modest, the focus here is clearly on reliability, ease of maintenance and cost-effective daily use.

The Shine 100 DX also receives subtle styling updates like chrome garnishing on the headlamp, refreshed tank design and a long seat for added comfort. Drum brakes with Honda’s Combined Braking System and a 168mm ground clearance are included to help it deal with varied road conditions. The bike is offered in four colour options and retains a functional character with the addition of small but useful changes.
