Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has inaugurated its latest social inclusion effort in Gurugram under Project Adhikaar. The Adhikaar Connect Kendra aims to bridge the gap between citizens and government welfare schemes by enabling digital access and offering end-to-end support for availing entitlements. This initiative is projected to unlock INR 200 crore in social security and welfare benefits over a three-year period and reach over 90,000 individuals by 2028.

The centre offers personalised assistance to citizens for central and state welfare schemes through eligibility screening, documentation support, and application facilitation. The effort is backed by a team of trained community entrepreneurs known as Adhikaar Sakhis and male volunteers who will assist citizens throughout the process. Around 30,000 citizens are expected to benefit annually through the services provided at this facility.

A central feature of the project is the issuance of a Yojana Card, a digital identity tool that allows for real-time access and monitoring of entitled benefits. Beyond welfare enrolments, the centre also serves as a knowledge and empowerment hub offering digital literacy tools, skilling programmes, and financial education to support long-term empowerment.

HMIF is implementing this initiative in partnership with Haqdarshak Empowerment Solutions, a field-based organisation with expertise in last-mile welfare delivery. Their combined effort ensures not just access but also continuity in the citizens’ journey to entitlement.

Puneet Anand, AVP and Vertical Head of Corporate Affairs at Hyundai Motor India, emphasised that the Adhikaar Connect Kendra is about more than just service delivery. It aims to provide dignity and self-reliance to those who have often remained on the fringes of India’s welfare landscape. Local government support was also evident with Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar highlighting how this initiative can significantly improve access to schemes and services for underserved communities.
