Hyundai Motor Group has announced the global deployment of its proprietary private cloud platform, HCloud, within Equinix data centers across Asia, the United States, and Europe.

Developed to meet rising demands for real-time data processing and seamless connectivity in connected and autonomous vehicles, HCloud is now integrated with Equinix’s International Business Exchange (IBX) and Fabric platforms. This hybrid multicloud architecture enables Hyundai to interconnect with leading public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring reliable connectivity, faster data delivery, and consistent global service coverage.

Currently powering in-car infotainment and mobile applications for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis, the Group’s connected car services (CCS) are central to its transition toward software-defined vehicles (SDVs). As nearly 95% of new vehicles are expected to be connected by 2030, Hyundai’s investment in HCloud supports scalable, high-performance infrastructure to deliver personalised, real-time experiences for drivers.

The strategic deployment of HCloud in Equinix data centers in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Frankfurt provides Hyundai Motor Group with high carrier density, global reach, and proximity to cloud ecosystems—enhancing application responsiveness and remote services.

“With Equinix’s global infrastructure, we’re significantly improving the quality and scalability of our connected car services,” said Youngjoo Han, Vice President and Head of IT Infra Center at Hyundai Motor Group. “This partnership brings us closer to our vision of becoming a global leader in connected mobility.”

Chris Jang, Managing Director of Equinix Korea, added, “Hyundai’s adoption of a hybrid multicloud model sets a strong precedent for the automotive industry’s digital transformation. Equinix is proud to support their journey with a globally interconnected digital ecosystem.”
