The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) has opened rider registrations for its second season, scheduled to begin with a mega auction process in the coming months. Launching on 24 April 2025, the registration marks the official start of what organisers expect to be a bigger and more internationally diverse edition.

Season 2 of ISRL promises four competitive categories for registration—450cc and 250cc classes for international riders, a 250cc India-Asia mixed category, and an 85cc junior class. While rider registration is the first step, participation will depend on the outcomes of a team-driven auction, where franchises build their squads based on available talent. This auction model mirrors league formats from cricket and kabaddi, designed to attract commercial investment and build loyal regional fan bases.

The league has drawn high-profile backing this season with actor Salman Khan joining as brand ambassador. His presence will likely boost public visibility and media attention, but the league’s credibility will still rest on the quality of racing and track infrastructure. Last season featured seasoned global names such as Jordi Tixier, Matt Moss, and Thomas Ramette alongside Indian riders like Rugved Barguje and Sarthak Chavan, raising the bar for Indian motorsport participation. Tracks built to global specifications in cities like Pune and Ahmedabad helped provide a professional racing environment, drawing over 30,000 spectators and 11.5 million viewers across just three days of broadcast.

The league’s co-founder Eeshan Lokhande called the first season “just the beginning,” stating that the format, infrastructure and reception from both Indian and international riders were strong indicators of the league’s potential. He said ISRL’s aim is to build a platform that not only puts India on the international Supercross map but also nurtures home-grown talent through structure and visibility. Riders like Brendan Sipple from Reise Motosports and Rugved Barguje have echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the league’s efforts in building a professional ecosystem

Team BigRock Motorsports, led by India’s Dakar Rally veteran CS Santosh, clinched the Season 1 championship, setting a competitive benchmark for the upcoming season. The team-based structure adds strategic depth to the racing format, although the sustainability of such a model in Indian motorsport will depend on long-term sponsor interest and grassroots development.
