Indofast Energy and EVeez have announced an expanded partnership to roll out 20,000 electric bikes across key Indian cities over the next 24 months. This deployment focuses on quick commerce, e-commerce, and food delivery sectors, and aims to support delivery partners with access to a growing battery-swapping network.

The partnership builds on an existing collaboration between the two companies and is centred on Indofast Energy’s battery-swapping infrastructure. With over 900 swapping stations and more than 40,000 daily swaps already taking place, the system is designed to minimise downtime and reduce operational costs for gig workers who rely on two- and three-wheelers for their livelihoods. The infrastructure is open to various OEMs, allowing more flexibility for fleets and individual users alike.

Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President, Indofast Energy, noted that by 2030, the company aims to establish a seamless, city-wide swapping network that could support a range of electric mobility use cases. This vision includes not only delivery fleets but also ride-hailing services and other urban transport needs.

EVeez sees this alliance as a strategic move to enter new markets. Gaurav Rathore, Co-founder and CEO, EVeez, highlighted the growing demand for delivery services in Tier II cities and explained that the collaboration would also open up sustainable work opportunities for gig workers. By integrating EVeez’s services with Indofast’s infrastructure, the companies are working to remove persistent barriers to electric vehicle adoption, particularly the need for reliable and cost-effective charging solutions.

The model being put forward by Indofast and EVeez is based on shared access rather than ownership, allowing delivery riders to lease or rent e-bikes backed by dependable battery services. This approach offers a practical solution to many of the challenges that have slowed EV adoption in the logistics sector, especially for smaller operators or individual riders with limited capital.
