The goal is to reach carbon net zero emissions across its supply chain, products and operations by 2039.

JLR Supply Chain

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has invited its global supply network to commit themselves to sustainability targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

This is part of its effort to reach carbon net zero emissions across its supply chain, products and operations by 2039 and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

JLR believes that commitments can only be achieved by working closely with suppliers and has hence asked its global Tier 1 network comprising products, services and logistics to align with its 2030 goals.

It has guided Tier 1 suppliers to set their decarbonisation pathway, report transparently and demonstrate progress towards their targets. This will involve disclosing their carbon reporting and collaborating with their own supply chain to deliver the same reductions.

This requirement has been shared with JLR’s supply network which translates into over 5,000 companies worldwide. The group has announced that it is developing the SBTi within its business and aims to convert its production sites to CO2-neutral by end-2025.
