JSW MG Motor India has announced that its flagship SUV, the Hector, is now certified for E20 fuel—petrol blended with 20% ethanol. The E20-compliant Hector will be available in 1.5-litre Petrol MT and CVT variants, aligning with the Government of India’s mandate requiring all gasoline vehicles produced after April 1, 2025, to meet E20 standards.
All petrol variants of the Hector rolling off the production line post-March 31, 2025, will adhere to this certification. MG’s Astor model already achieved E20 compliance last year, reflecting the company’s continued focus on sustainable innovation.
Rakesh Sen, Head of Sales, JSW MG Motor India, said, “With E20 compliance, we further our commitment to innovation and sustainability, offering vehicles that are both future-ready and environmentally conscious.”
Launched in 2019 as India’s first Internet SUV, the MG Hector has gained wide consumer acceptance for its cutting-edge features including a segment-leading 14-inch HD infotainment screen, panoramic sunroof, more than 70 connected car features, and advanced ADAS safety technologies.
To enhance the car-buying experience, the company has also launched a ‘Midnight Carnival’ campaign for the Hector. Under this initiative, showrooms will remain open until midnight on weekends, offering customers exclusive benefits worth up to INR 4 lakh. Additionally, 20 lucky buyers stand a chance to win a trip to London.
Starting at INR 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the MG Hector continues to position itself as a feature-rich, value-driven SUV. With the new E20 certification, the vehicle further cements its role in MG’s vision for a greener and more responsible automotive future.
