Kia India has announced the appointment of Atul Sood as Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, effective 11 July 2025. With nearly 30 years of experience in the automotive sector, Sood joins Kia at a time when the company is aiming to reinforce its standing in the competitive mass-premium space. He will report directly to Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, and will be responsible for national sales operations and marketing strategy.

Sood’s previous roles include senior leadership positions at Toyota Mobility Solutions and Services India, where he served as President and Director. He has also worked with Toyota Kirloskar Motors and Toyota Motor Asia Pacific, gaining experience across business planning, dealer network expansion and customer-centric innovations. His appointment comes as Kia continues to evolve from a challenger brand into an established player in India’s maturing passenger vehicle market.

Reacting to his new role, Atul Sood said he looks forward to contributing to a brand that has quickly built a reputation for innovation and responsiveness. He acknowledged Kia’s progress in India and stated that the opportunity aligns with his interest in delivering sustainable business outcomes rooted in customer value.

Kia India has seen considerable success since its entry in 2019, driven by popular models such as the Seltos, Sonet and Carens. However, as the company looks to diversify its portfolio and scale its EV presence, leadership in sales and marketing will be central to managing both volume and brand perception. The appointment of Sood reflects an understanding that future growth will depend not only on product strength but also on stable and experienced leadership at the national level.
