Kia India announced that it has inaugurated a 240kWh charger for EV passenger vehicles at Incheon Kia, Kochi. Earlier in July 2022, the company launched a 150 kWh charger in Gurugram.

The station installed is a part of Kia’s commitment to its customers to provide new-age mobility solutions. Besides this station, Kia India plans to build a fast charger network across the country, a press release from the company stated. Kia India will also accommodate the charging needs of EVs from other OEMs through these charging stations.

Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, 'These are exciting times for EVs, and we aim not just to be a part of the mobility revolution of EVs in India but to make EV ownership aspirational, accessible, and inclusive.”

The installation of the charging stations comes as a part of Kia India’s electrification strategy for India, which started with the launch of EV6 in May 2022.
