Kia India, one of the country’s leading mass premium carmakers, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, foster a sustainable skilling ecosystem, and enhance placement opportunities in the automotive sector.

The joint initiative will deliver an immersive 30-day training programme blending classroom learning and hands-on dealership experience. The curriculum includes 15 days of foundational training at ASDC-certified centres covering automotive fundamentals, dealership operations, and Kia-specific processes, followed by 15 days of on-the-job training at authorised Kia dealerships under expert supervision.

Speaking on the collaboration, Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “This collaboration with ASDC represents a pivotal step in Kia India’s commitment to shaping a future-ready ecosystem anchored in skilled human capital and elevated customer experience. By creating a robust talent pool through structured training and certification, we are empowering India’s youth with meaningful employment while reinforcing our dealer network with professionals who embody Kia’s values of quality, care, and innovation.”

The programme’s co-developed learning model is designed to prepare candidates for immediate workplace effectiveness, combining technical expertise with customer-centric skills. Graduates will undergo evaluation at ASDC centres, receive joint certification from Kia India and ASDC, and qualify for direct recruitment into sales and service roles at Kia dealerships.

Positioned as a benchmark for dealership workforce readiness, the initiative is expected to empower a new generation of automotive professionals with future-proof career opportunities while elevating customer experience across Kia’s nationwide network.
