Kia India has unveiled the Carens Clavis, a bold new addition to its successful Carens portfolio. Positioned as a spacious, tech-forward 3-row vehicle, the Clavis is designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s large Indian families, blending the functionality of an MPV with the commanding presence of an SUV.
Inspired by the Latin phrase Clavis Aurea or “Golden Key,” the Clavis symbolises a gateway to unforgettable family adventures. With its premium design, expansive interior, and advanced technology, Kia aims to offer more than just a car—it's a companion for modern lifestyles, packed with features that enhance mobility, comfort, and connection.
The Carens Clavis builds on the legacy of the Carens, which has won the trust of over two lakh families since its launch. It offers both 6- and 7-seater configurations, a spacious cabin experience, and cutting-edge technology wrapped in a bold, futuristic design.
Design & Exterior
Drawing from Kia’s global ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, the Clavis showcases a futuristic SUV stance with clean lines and a dynamic silhouette. Exterior highlights include Kia’s Digital Tiger Face grille, Ice Cube MFR LED headlamps, connected Star Map LED taillamps, and 17-inch Crystal Cut Dual Tone alloy wheels. The commanding road presence is further accentuated by robust satin chrome skid plates and a fresh Ivory Silver Gloss body colour.
Interior & Features
The Carens Clavis offers a thoughtfully designed cabin with segment-first innovations like one-touch electric tumble seats for third-row access and Boss Mode for flexible second-row adjustment. It features a 26.62 cm dual panoramic display panel, offering an intuitive digital experience for infotainment and driving data.
Passengers enjoy 64-colour ambient lighting, roof-mounted diffused air vents, a seat-mounted air purifier, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Premium touches include ventilated front seats, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, a Bose 8-speaker sound system, and a versatile infotainment-temperature swap switch.
Smart Convenience, Connectivity
Raising the bar in user-friendly tech, the Clavis introduces segment-first features such as remote-controlled auto up/down power windows and spot lamp illumination on rear doors. It also integrates a 360-degree camera with a Blind View Monitor for enhanced visibility and safety.
Safety & Performance
Safety is central to the Carens Clavis, equipped with ADAS Level 2 comprising 20 autonomous features like Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assist, and Forward Collision Avoidance. It also offers a robust standard safety package with 18 features including six airbags, ESC, and a Rear Occupant Alert system.
The Clavis will be available with three powertrain options: the Smartstream G1.5 petrol, the Smartstream G1.5 Turbo-GDi (now with an all-new manual transmission), and the D1.5 diesel. It will be offered across seven trims—HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX and HTX+—and eight vibrant colour options.
