Kinetic Engineering Ltd. (KEL) has officially re-entered the two-wheeler segment with the launch of the all-new Kinetic DX EV—a modern electric avatar of its beloved legacy scooter. Bookings are now open at INR 1,000, limited to the first 35,000 units, with deliveries set to begin in September 2025.

Revived under Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. (KWV), KEL’s dedicated EV arm, the DX EV blends timeless design with cutting-edge features to appeal to a new generation of urban riders.

Co-designed with Italian partners, the Kinetic DX EV stays true to its roots with a strong metal body, spacious floorboard, and class-leading 37-litre under-seat storage—capable of holding two helmets plus everyday essentials. Built as a true family vehicle, it balances form and function with modern electric power.

At the heart of the DX+ is a 2.6 kWh LFP battery from Range-X, delivering longer life (2500–3500+ cycles), improved thermal stability, and an estimated IDC range of 116 km, aided by Kinetic’s proprietary K-Coast regenerative braking and a 60V system for enhanced efficiency. A peppy motor offers a top speed of 90 km/h, along with three riding modes: Range, Power, and Turbo. Both DX and DX+ models feature reverse assist, hill hold, telescopic suspension, and combi-braking for added comfort and safety.

Backed by a capital infusion of INR 72 crore, with an additional INR 177 crore pledged by promoters to scale the platform, the DX EV signals Kinetic’s determined return to India’s mobility forefront.

Kinetic has also infused the DX range with connected intelligence. A dedicated mobile app supports both variants, while the DX+ introduces advanced Telekinetic features—including real-time ride stats, geo-fencing, intrusion alerts, vehicle tracking, and more. Riders are greeted by the scooter’s My Kiney voice companion, which even remembers birthdays. Other smart touches include Bluetooth-enabled music and navigation, and a Kinetic Assist switch for instant CRM support.

Speaking on the relaunch, Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman of Kinetic India, said, “The legendary Kinetic DX earned its place in millions of hearts back in the ’90s. Reviving it is not just about nostalgia—it’s about carrying forward the Kinetic legacy of innovation and trust into the electric future. The new DX EV brings segment-first features that we believe will set new benchmarks in e-mobility.”
