KPIT Technologies has inaugurated its first technology centre in the Nordic region, establishing a new facility in Gothenburg, Sweden, as part of its global expansion strategy. Located at Lindholmen Science Park, the hub places KPIT in the middle of Sweden’s key mobility innovation zone, home to a dense network of vehicle manufacturers, universities and emerging start-ups focused on automotive technology and sustainable transport.

This step marks a significant milestone for KPIT, which has been working with European OEMs for over two decades. The company aims to use this base in Sweden to strengthen its partnership with regional clients and contribute to the development of safer, cleaner and smarter mobility solutions. Gothenburg, often seen as the heart of Sweden’s mobility ecosystem, provides KPIT direct access to local talent and research communities, enabling faster collaboration on product engineering and systems development.

Sachin Tikekar, President and Joint Managing Director, KPIT Technologies, stated that the company’s presence in Sweden is designed to support its clients more closely by working alongside them to solve mobility challenges at their core. He pointed out that Sweden’s reputation for innovation in green mobility made it a natural fit for KPIT’s long-term ambitions. The centre will support software and hardware engineering needs and will act as a complement to KPIT’s other European operations in Germany, the UK, France and Italy.

The announcement has been welcomed locally, with Gothenburg’s regional development officials describing the move as a vote of confidence in the city’s role as a global centre for automotive software innovation. Patrik Andersson, CEO of Business Region Göteborg, said KPIT’s decision would help strengthen the region’s automotive cluster and broaden its global visibility.
