KPIT Technologies has announced the acquisition of Caresoft Global’s Engineering Solutions business in a move that aims to sharpen its focus on the commercial vehicle sector while expanding its footprint into China. The deal is to strengthen KPIT’s offerings in cost reduction, vehicle design, and manufacturing engineering as the mobility industry faces mounting pressure from trade shifts and the rise of fast-moving Chinese OEMs.

As part of the transaction, Caresoft Global will restructure its business into three separate units, while KPIT takes over the engineering solutions vertical. This division has been known for its deep benchmarking expertise and vehicle teardown analysis, often used to identify cost-saving opportunities across vehicle platforms. For KPIT, this acquisition is a step towards building a more integrated offering that addresses software, hardware, and manufacturing holistically—an area many OEMs are currently struggling to align.

The deal also marks a strategic entry point into China, where Caresoft’s longstanding ties with Chinese OEMs, new energy vehicle makers and suppliers offer KPIT access to valuable market insights. As global OEMs look to improve competitiveness, KPIT intends to apply learnings from China to its wider client base and bring best practices to engineering cost efficiency.

In the commercial vehicle and off-highway segments the addition of Caresoft’s domain knowledge is expected to boost capabilities further. From plant layout and assembly line optimisation to manufacturing engineering and industrial design, KPIT will now be able to offer a more complete suite of services. This also includes helping OEMs make early-stage design decisions to avoid costly delays later in the development cycle.

Kishor Patil, CEO and MD, KPIT Technologies, stated that the collaboration with Caresoft brings strategic value to OEMs looking for greater agility and cost control. Mathew Vachaparampil, CEO, Caresoft Global, said the partnership reflects a shared focus on customer impact and timely delivery of technology solutions.
