Living Optics, a pioneer in hyperspectral imaging (HSI), has entered into a strategic partnership with AVerMedia Technologies, a global leader in AI-powered edge computing solutions, to bring spectral intelligence from the lab to real-world deployment.
The partnership introduces a bundled solution that integrates Living Optics’ video-rate hyperspectral camera with AVerMedia’s industrial-grade edge computer, the D315AOB (5G), powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin. This plug-and-play platform enables real-time spectral analysis directly at the edge, allowing industries to detect and act on subtle material differences without needing cloud connectivity. A live demo illustrated how hyperspectral data can be captured, processed, and interpreted on-device, opening new frontiers for applications such as quality control, environmental monitoring, precision agriculture, and medical diagnostics.
Dr Steve Chappell, Co-founder and CTO of Living Optics, noted, “This partnership is about moving our hyperspectral technology out of the lab and into the real world. AVerMedia’s robust edge computing platforms and global reach make it dramatically easier for customers to adopt next-generation vision systems.”
AVerMedia, based in Taiwan, brings decades of expertise in embedded AI systems and rugged video solutions to the table. Alex Liu, Vice President of AVerMedia’s Industrial Product Division, said, “Together, we’re redefining what machine vision can do at the edge. The integration of Living Optics’ HSI with our Jetson-powered platforms gives customers the speed, accuracy, and intelligence they need—right on-site.”
To ease adoption, a co-developed developer kit is now available, simplifying integration for system developers and enterprise users. The bundled solution is designed for scalability, industrial reliability, and rapid time-to-value, eliminating the technical friction of integrating disparate imaging and computing components.
