Mahindra is set to broaden the appeal of its popular Scorpio N SUV by introducing an automatic transmission option in the Z4 variant. This move will make the automatic lineup more accessible to a wider range of customers, with the launch expected in the coming weeks.
Currently, the Scorpio N automatic is available in the Z6, Z8, and Z8L variants. With the upcoming addition, the Z4 variant will also get the option of a torque converter automatic transmission. It will be offered with both the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, and exclusively in a 2WD, seven-seat configuration.
To recap, the Scorpio N is available in five variants – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L – paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The addition of the Z4 AT aims to bridge the gap between entry-level and higher trims, giving buyers more flexibility in choosing the right combination of features and powertrain.
