MAHLE has secured a major €200 million order for DC/DC converters in China. The converters will support an international carmaker’s upcoming battery-electric vehicle (BEV) lineup.
The converters play a crucial role in electric vehicles by stepping down the high-voltage 800V battery output to 12V, powering essential systems like multimedia, cameras, and electric pumps. Dr Roger Busch, Head of Sales & Technology and Management Committee Member at MAHLE, said, “China is the leading market for vehicle electrification, and I’m pleased this order allows us to expand our presence here. Given the rapid pace of innovation in China, we see significant potential for growth, particularly in electrification and thermal management.”
MAHLE’s Changshu site currently employs around 600 people and is poised to become a cornerstone of its global e-mobility strategy. The group collaborates with both international and major Chinese OEMs, developing and manufacturing solutions tailored for the local market and beyond.
