In a major stride towards democratising vehicle safety, Maruti Suzuki ARENA has announced the standardisation of six airbags across four of its most popular models—WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco.
The new six-airbag system includes dual front airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags, offering comprehensive protection. It is complemented by a full suite of active and passive safety technologies, including Electronic Stability Control (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, and ABS with EBD. Additionally, three-point seatbelts with seatbelt reminders for all occupants further strengthen the safety proposition.
To amplify awareness, the OEM has launched a high-impact campaign highlighting the benefits of six airbags. Featuring dynamic visuals through adrenaline-packed activities like Zorbing and Bubble Football, the campaign communicates the essence of impact protection in an engaging and relatable manner.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “India’s expanding road network and high-speed mobility patterns demand stronger safety measures. By making six airbags standard in these high-volume models, we are raising safety benchmarks for millions of Indian motorists.”
With this move, the WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco join the ranks of other ARENA models like the Swift, Dzire, and Brezza, which already feature six airbags as standard. The upgraded models are now available at Maruti Suzuki ARENA dealerships across India, reinforcing the company’s vision of making advanced safety features a standard expectation—not a premium add-on.
