Maruti Suzuki has announced export milestone for its compact SUV Fronx which has become the fastest Indian SUV to reach the 1 lakh export mark. Achieving this in just 25 months since its launch in April 2023, the Fronx has set a new pace for the company’s international growth.
The Fronx’s global journey began the same year as its domestic launch, with initial shipments headed to Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. In the time since, it has grown to reach more than 80 countries. Of particular note is the strong demand from Japan, a market known for its high standards in quality and performance, where the Fronx has quickly gained popularity. In FY 2024-25 alone, the Fronx was the most exported passenger vehicle from India, with over 69,000 units dispatched.
The company has been India’s leading exporter of passenger vehicles for four consecutive financial years. In Q1 of FY 2025-26, Maruti Suzuki exported more than 96,000 units, capturing an unprecedented 47 percent share in India’s passenger vehicle export segment. With a portfolio of 17 models shipped to around 100 countries, the company’s top export markets include South Africa, Japan and Saudi Arabia.
The company closed FY 2024-25 with it’s highest-ever export volume of over 3.3 lakh units, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 17.5 percent. Alongside the Fronx, models like the Jimny, Baleno, Swift and Dzire have also made strong contributions to this figure.
