Mercedes-Benz India has strengthened its top-end performance portfolio with the launch of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé, priced at INR 1.35 crore (ex-showroom). Combining the agility of the C-Class with the space and elegance of the E-Class, the two-door coupé delivers a dynamic blend of performance, comfort, and striking road presence for driving enthusiasts.
The CLE 53 4MATIC+ is powered by an upgraded 3.0-litre M 256M inline six-cylinder turbo engine, now featuring optimised combustion chambers, redesigned inlet and outlet channels, and a larger turbocharger. Paired with an electric additional compressor, the engine delivers 560 Nm of torque in standard mode and up to 600 Nm in overboost for short bursts, while producing 435 hp. A second-generation integrated starter generator adds hybrid functions such as 23 hp of short-term boost, recuperation, and near-seamless start-stop functionality.
The powertrain is mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission, offering rapid, responsive shifts, particularly in “Sport+” and manual modes. Drivers can choose from five AMG DYNAMIC SELECT modes—Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual—to fine-tune engine, transmission, chassis, and steering characteristics.
The fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system offers optimal traction across conditions, with the ability to decouple the front axle for efficiency in normal driving and provide rear-biased dynamics in sportier modes. The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive damping and rear-axle steering enhances agility, stability, and ride comfort.
Inside, the CLE 53 4MATIC+ features a 12.3-inch digital driver display, an 11.9-inch central touchscreen, and 64-colour ambient lighting. AMG-specific seats upholstered in ARTICO man-made leather/MICROCUT microfibre with red contrast stitching, along with the AMG Performance steering wheel, underline the sporty character. Drivers can also access unique AMG display styles and performance data via the MBUX infotainment system.
With its advanced drivetrain, refined suspension, and high-tech interior, the CLE 53 4MATIC+ aims to appeal to customers seeking both luxury and high-performance engineering in a distinctive coupé form.
