Mercedes-Benz India continued its strong sales momentum, recording its highest ever Q2 results. The company has retailed 7,573 units in the January-June 2022 period in India.

The excitement created with new product launches, sustained demand for existing products and services, and a unique omnichannel customer journey were cited as the reasons behind the performance of the OEM. The OEM further noted that S-Class, S-Class Maybach, GLS along with AMGs had witnessed increased customer preference lately.

As noted by Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, this sales record becomes even more significant against the backdrop of continued supply-side challenges triggered by global developments and local market challenges. He said, “Though we expect the semiconductor shortage to continue in coming months, it remains our endeavour to scale up our production and deliver the cars to the customers and reduce the waiting period.'

The OEM claims to have an order book of more than 6,000 units and is betting on a positive outlook for its market in India. GLC remains the highest-selling SUV for Mercedes-Benz in India, followed by the GLA. 

The Q3 of the current year, as per Mercedes Benz, will be highly exciting as the OEM is lining up some of the most anticipated models from its global portfolio in the country.
