German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has appointed Lance Bennett as the Vice President- Sales and Marketing, Mercedes- Benz India w.e.f February 1, 2023, succeeding Santosh Iyer, who is elevated as the Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, effective January 1, 2023

Bennett is currently the General Manager and Company Director of Mercedes-Benz New Zealand and is responsible for sales, marketing and after-sales support for passenger cars. He began his career with Mercedes-Benz New Zealand in 2005 as a management accountant.

He has held several senior positions within the automotive industry, spanning Finance, Sales, Operations and Product Management, including postings in the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

Notably, during 2021-22, Bennett oversaw the implementation of Mercedes-Benz’s Direct-to-Consumer business model, which focuses on providing an exceptional customer experience via transparent pricing, access to a national stock pool of vehicles, and offering the capability to purchase vehicles online.

Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, noted that Bennett has also successfully grown the Mercedes-AMG business in New Zealand and has rich experience across finance, sales, operations and product management functions.

Schwenk has been elevated as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz Thailand, effective from January 1, 2023.
