Minda Corporation Limited has announced a strategic joint venture with Japan’s Toyodenso Co Ltd to manufacture advanced automotive switches for the Indian market. The new venture, in which Minda Corp holds a 60 percent stake, will focus on the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of switches for two-wheelers, passenger vehicles and other automotive segments.

The new greenfield manufacturing facility will be set up in Noida, Uttar Pradesh and is expected to commence operations in the second half of FY 2026–27. The venture has already secured customer orders, signalling early confidence in its offering. With this tie-up, Toyodenso brings in its legacy of high-quality Japanese engineering, while Minda contributes with its deep understanding of Indian market dynamics, established production capabilities, and local supply chain strength.

Ashok Minda, Chairman and Group CEO, Minda Corporation Limited, described the alliance as a milestone in the company’s push towards integrating global technology into India's manufacturing ecosystem. He emphasised that the venture supports the goal of fostering smart mobility through indigenous production backed by global engineering.

Kiyoshi Koide, President, Toyodenso, expressed the company’s intent to establish a stable business base in India, with a clear focus on growing the automotive parts segment through this partnership. The alliance with Spark Minda is seen as a step forward in developing a sustained presence in one of the fastest-growing automotive markets globally.
