Marking 23 years of operations in India, Musashi India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s Musashi Seimitsu Industries, has launched the Musashi Technology Excellence Centre (MTEC) at the Atria University Campus in Bengaluru.
With an initial investment of INR 100 crore, the centre will focus on the testing, validation, and localisation of technologies developed by Musashi Global in partnership with international collaborators. MTEC aligns with India’s Net Zero 2030 goals, supporting indigenous innovation while strengthening Musashi’s long-term sustainability agenda.
MTEC will serve as a hub for rapid prototyping, local manufacturing integration, and accelerated product development. Designed to tap into India's deep engineering talent, the facility will bring together experts such as electrochemists and data scientists to drive innovation in energy storage and mobility solutions.
Reflecting on the milestone, Naoya Nishimura, CEO of Musashi India and Africa Region, said, “Our journey in India began in 2002 with one customer, and today we stand proudly as a trusted partner to leading OEMs. The establishment of MTEC marks our evolution into a truly Indian operation focused on customer-first values and ownership. This is a crucial step toward building the number one operation in the country.”
Masaru Maeda, Chief E-Mobility Officer, Musashi Seimitsu Industries, added, “India is a key market in our global e-mobility roadmap. MTEC reinforces our commitment to sustainable, localised solutions that will serve both Indian and global needs.”
The phased development of MTEC will leverage Musashi’s deep manufacturing legacy in India, its expertise in hybrid supercapacitors through Musashi Energy Solutions, and strategic input from the Japanese parent company. With MTEC, Musashi India aims to fast-track innovations in battery energy storage systems, reduce time to market, and contribute meaningfully to India’s green mobility future.
