Nidec India Private Limited, a subsidiary of global motor giant Nidec Corporation, has announced the groundbreaking of a new manufacturing facility—its third building—at its existing factory site in Neemrana, Rajasthan.
The expansion marks a strategic move to scale up the company’s automotive motor production to meet the surging demand in India’s growing mobility sector.
The upcoming facility will focus on producing automotive motors including those for electronic power steering motor power packs, park lock actuators, and electric water pumps, with a planned investment of approximately 10 billion yen.
The current Neemrana site houses two operational buildings: the first dedicated to motors for home appliances and air conditioners, and the second focused on electric bike drive motors. The addition of the third building will significantly expand the company’s local production footprint, positioning it to serve India’s rapidly evolving automotive needs.
India’s domestic passenger vehicle market achieved a major milestone in FY2023, crossing the four million unit shipment mark for the first time. Despite this record, vehicle penetration remains below 10%, highlighting strong potential for future growth as incomes rise and vehicle ownership expands across the country.
“In light of India’s sustained economic momentum and the accelerating entry of global automakers into the market, Nidec India’s latest expansion will play a critical role in addressing the growing need for reliable, efficient automotive motor solutions,” the company stated.
As the world’s leading comprehensive motor manufacturer, Nidec operates on the principle of powering 'everything that spins and moves.' With a presence in 46 countries and backed by 340 group companies, Nidec continues to leverage its deep R&D capabilities to deliver lightweight, compact, and high-efficiency motor solutions across industries.
