Nissan Motor India has announced the Phase 2 rollout of its CNG retrofitment kit for the New Nissan Magnite compact SUV, expanding its availability to six more states—Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu.

With this move, the eco-friendly CNG option is now offered across 13 states, following its initial launch in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka. Preparations for a third phase are already in progress.

The expansion comes in response to strong customer demand for affordable, sustainable mobility options. The retrofitment kit, compatible with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (manual transmission) of the New Magnite, is priced at INR 74,999. Developed and quality-assured by government-approved vendor Motozen, the kit is installed at authorised centres using a homologated, regulation-compliant system. Motozen offers a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty on kit components.

The New Magnite, which offers a generous 336-litre boot space even with the retrofitment, continues to deliver on practicality and performance. Post-Phase 1 feedback and third-party testing have shown improved fuel economy compared to the standard petrol variant.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, stated, “The New Nissan Magnite continues to be a key growth driver for us in India, and we’re committed to expanding its relevance in line with evolving customer needs. The Phase 2 rollout of our CNG retrofitment option reflects both the growing demand for cleaner mobility and our intent to offer credible, high-quality alternatives without compromising on the core strengths of the Magnite.”

The Magnite’s strong value proposition—marked by bold design, over 20 first- and best-in-segment features, and more than 55 safety features—continues to drive its appeal in India and globally. It is now available in over 65 countries, including Right-Hand Drive and Left-Hand Drive markets.
