Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable mobility, Nissan Motor India has announced a series of green initiatives to commemorate World Environment Day. As part of this drive, the company has installed solar electricity generation systems at seven of its dealerships across India, enabling them to operate entirely on renewable energy.
The dealerships benefiting from this transition include Acuity Nissan in Baroda, Aarav Nissan in Mehsana, three EVM Nissan outlets in Kerala, Dada Nissan in Jalandhar, and Roshan Nissan in Jaipur. These installations now fully power showroom and workshop operations, with any surplus energy fed back into the grid—significantly reducing reliance on conventional power sources and advancing Nissan’s goal of cleaner, more efficient dealership operations.
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “Our initiatives reflect a long-term vision for a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive future. Every step we take is guided by our environmental philosophy to drive responsible mobility and reduce our ecological impact.”
On June 5, Nissan will also conduct a nationwide tree sapling plantation activity across all its dealerships and workshops. Customers will be invited to plant saplings tagged with their name and vehicle number, symbolising their personal contribution to a greener tomorrow. Participants will receive a “Green Service Certificate” and seed packets to encourage continued environmental action beyond the dealership.
Further strengthening its sustainability efforts, Nissan has also reduced plastic packaging usage by 15% and recently introduced a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for the New Nissan Magnite. Priced at INR 74,999, the retrofitment is aimed at environmentally conscious customers seeking lower emissions and better fuel efficiency without compromising on vehicle performance. Initially available in seven states—Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka—the CNG option underlines Nissan’s intent to provide accessible green mobility solutions.
